I didn’t even know what a blog was then, and now look at the mess I’m in. I curse. A lot. I pretend to know stuff about weddings and marriage and life and sometimes people actually believe me. Go figure.

I live in Charlotte, North Carolina, with my attorney-husband, who I affectionately refer to as The Candyman and our antique cat, Less Kitty. I started The Thirty-Something Bride as an outlet for venting my frustrations whilst planning our October 2009 wedding. Clearly, blogging got a little out of hand....

Did I mention that I'm often foul-mouthed? It's without the intention to offend (ok, maybe just sometimes). If you read this blog, prepare yourself for the occasional f-bomb.

I am incredibly blessed to do what I love: writing horribly edited blog posts, creating pretty things for other brides via TruLu Couture and being a part of the most wonderful world and community of bloggers. Without this village of incredibly talented, insightful and generous individuals, many of whom I've never met, I'd still be wondering what "html" meant. I would have been lost as a bride. From this group, I continue to learn, grow and laugh. I love you people. I do. For reals.

I have lived and traveled all over the world. I'm high energy, controlling, sarcastic and slightly neurotic. Oddly, I met a man who can not only handle the crazy, but loves it too. How could anyone not love back? After a solid decision made years ago to never marry, The Candyman proposed. I couldn't help but say yes. I think I swooned too, but please don't tell anyone. It would ruin my rep.

I am blessed with family, friends, health, happiness and best of all: love. It makes my world go 'round.
